The General page of the Object Settings dialog:

Type

• Ignore - The object and its children are not exported.
• Empty - The object is exported as an empty node, along with its position, orientation, and scale.
• Billboard - A single billboard in a billboard set. This type is only available when the object is a Softimage/XSI grid that has been made a child of a billboard set.
• Billboard Set - A billboard owner. This type is only available when the object is a Softimage/XSI grid.
• External - A reference to an external item. Objects of this type are not a part of the exported scene graph.
• Entity/Mesh - The object is a mesh, exported as an entity.
• Submesh - A part of another mesh. This type should only be used when the object is a child of an entity/mesh.
• Light - A light. This type is only available when the object is a Softimage/XSI light.
• Model Instance - An instance of an OgreMax Model. All children are ignored when this type is used.
• Particle System File - A reference to a particle system stored in a file.
• Plane - A plane. This type is only available when the object is a Softimage/XSI grid.
• Sky Box - A sky box. This type is only available when the object is a Softimage/XSI cube.
• Sky Dome - A sky dome. This type is only available when the object is a Softimage/XSI sphere.
• Sky Plane - A sky plane. This type is only available when the object is a Softimage/XSI grid.
• Terrain File - A reference to a terrain file.

OgreMax Viewports

• Usable - Indicates whether the object should be used in OgreMax viewports. If the object isn't of a type supported by the viewports, this setting is ignored.
• Selectable - Indicates whether the object is selectable in OgreMax viewports. If the object isn't of a type supported by the viewports, this setting is ignored.

Rendering

• Visibility - Controls the object, node, or node hierarchy's visibility.
  • Default - No changes are made.
  • Visible - The node or object is visible. This setting affects the object if 'Affect Object Only' is checked. Otherwise it affects the node.
  • Hidden - The node or object is hidden. This setting affects the object if 'Affect Object Only' is checked. Otherwise it affects the node.
  • Tree Visible - The node and all of its children are visible. This setting will override any child node or object settings when the scene is loaded.
  • Tree Hidden - The node and all of its children are hidden. This setting will override any child node or object settings when the scene is loaded.
• Render Queue - The render queue that the object is placed into.
• Render Distance - The distance from the camera beyond which the object isn't rendered. A setting of 0 disables distance culling.
• Custom Parameters - Custom parameters passed into the shader programs used by the object's material.

Hierarchy

• Exported Parent - An alternate parent object to use instead of the one that the object is currently attached to.
• Attach Object to Parent Node - Indicates whether this object should be grouped into the parent object's node. Normally, objects are exported into their own nodes. For the most predictable results, the object should be placed at the same position as the parent, since exported attached objects always take on the position of their parent node.
• Ignore Children - Indicates whether the object's child objects are ignored during the export process.
• Sort Children By - The criteria by which the object's children are exported.
• Order - The object's order, used when the object is sorted as a child of another object.

Model Export

• Export to .model File - Indicates whether the object's child objects are ignored during the export process. For more information on models, see OgreMax Models.
• Model Name - The name of the exported model.
